JOB SUMMARY FOR SYSTEM INTEGERATION ENGINEER (CAN):

  • The Software Integration Engineer (SIE) is responsible for the integration and high-level testing of vehicle electronic control systems on New/Major/Mid-Cycle electric drivetrain development programs.
  • This includes the serial data interfaces, software functionality and diagnostics.
  • A high level of independent judgment and initiative is required. The SIE may exercise technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel and may have work direction responsibilities over a group with specific engineering objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR VEHICLE INTEGRATION ENGINEER:

  • Leads and executes bench-level Design Integration Testing (DIT) of software releases prior to vehicle builds and rides in order to identify and resolve significant software integration issues.
  • Support pre-production and production build activities and vehicle ride trips as required
  • Monitor End of Line Test results during vehicle launch and assist in investigation of issues.

JOB EXPERIENCE FOR VEHICLE INTEGRATION ENGINEER:

  • Familiarity with validation methods for serial communication and diagnostics
  • Ability to understand technical specifications and relate them to testing conditions at the bench and system / vehicle level
  • Writing and/or updating test procedures and reports as required
  • Preparing and Managing project plans both at the day-to-day level and longer term planning/scheduling
  • Set-up and execution of test scenarios per prescribed test procedures with appropriate data logging and interpretation of results
  • Analysing and documenting data from tests and identifying issues
  • Ability to root cause serial data/ECU issues to narrow focus from the general to the specific
  • Communication, coordination, and consulting with engineering departments and customers

  • LAN, LIN, CAN, Embedded Controls
